Workshop For Stakeholders In The Music Industry

A two-day workshop and structured lecture series geared at educating and providing the necessary foundation and tools required to enter the foreign market as a Ghanaian musician will take place on June 12 and 13 at the Alliance Francaise in Accra.

The workshop is being organized to put in place mechanisms that will help to promote the music industry in Ghana on the international market, as well as educate Ghanaian music stakeholders on defining what we have to offer, familiarize the attendees with the technical and scientific aspect of producing, mixing and mastering our music.

It will introduce attendees to foreign expertise, their influences and benefits to our class of music.

A structured and concise segment of this workshop will also avail attendees with the legalities and policies of the industry as a whole, like copyright, publishing and licensing issues.

Some of the speakers to address participants include Charles Amoah, musician and record producer, Kwame Yeboah, musician and record producer, Professor John Collins, Music Department of the University of Ghana and Chairs Booker, African Popular Music Archives Foundation (BAPMAF), among others.
