The Member of Parliament for Suhum, Fred Opare-Ansah, in conjunction with Kenness Multi-Media Productions and Investments, is organising a three-in-one entertainment/fashion show on Republic Day, July 1 at Suhum in the Eastern region

The event is aimed at supporting young hairdressers and seamstresses who have completed their training but have not been able set up their own businesses.

The show, dubbed 'Fashioners Apprentice Show 2012′, will see 11 hairdressers and seamstresses competing for a well-furnished container shop, hairdryers, electrical sewing machines and other prizes to enable them set up their own businesses.

Speaking to BEATWAVES , the Chief Executive Officer for Kennes Multi-Media, Addo F. Kennedy, said the show was put together by the MP and other business entities at Suhum to help support young girls who had completed their apprenticeships in hairdressing and sewing but could not afford to employ themselves.

According to him, companies like Amoako Metal Works, Harmony Fashions, Talk Mobile, Evergreen and Sady Wear would also support the show.

He said the contestants would compete in a fashion show, hair show and beauty pageant to determine who would win the shop, hairdryers and sewing machines.

According to him, the programme would take place at the Suhum community centre in the evening of July 1 and the MP for Suhum was expected to grace the occasion.
