One of Ghana's enterprising gospel musicians, Diana Hamilton, has officially launched her 'Diana Hamilton Peace Endorsement Tour for 2012 Elections.'

 The peace endorsement tour, which is expected to take her throughout the country, would focus on ensuring that traditional leaders, political leaders, religious leaders, among others demonstrated their commitment to ensure peaceful elections by signing up for this tour.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra, Diana Hamilton stressed that 'the tour is expected to take me throughout the country to educate Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians about the essence of peace in this upcoming elections and contribute my quota to ensure that Ghana continues to enjoy peaceful atmosphere before, during and after the 2012 general elections,' Diana noted at the media launch held in Accra.

She disclosed that the tour, which would start from Accra and replicated in all 10 regions of Ghana, would also include gospel music concerts.

Diana Hamilton has three albums to her credit and is working tirelessly to change the trend of gospel music in Ghana.

Based on the success of her maiden album, ' Osoro Be Kasa' , she was nominated for Best Female Vocal Performance and Gospel Song of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards in 2008.

The song ' Ensi wo Yie' from her second album received nomination for Gospel Song of the Year 2010 at the Ghana Music Awards. Diana Hamilton was also nominated for Best Musician at the Ghana-UK Based Achievement Awards 2010. She was also nominated for Best Female Artiste at the Africa Gospel Awards 2011.

The gospel songbird hinted that 'I will lead the delegation to present 'Diana Hamilton Peace Endorsement Tour For 2012 Elections' forms to the various political leaders, especially presidential candidates, religious and traditional leaders, youth groups, media houses, corporate and educational institutions, etc, for them to endorse them (forms) to demonstrate their commitment towards peaceful elections this year.'

According to her, although elections were about making choices between various political and ideological leanings, and not violent confrontations, since Ghana returned to a multi-party democracy in 1992, no election had been conducted without incidence of violence and intimidation at one point or the other.

 'I cannot sit and watch quietly for this trend to continue to the 2012 elections.

'I must do something and you must also do something to save our organizations, friends, loved ones, children, fathers and mothers. So what should we do?  To avert such an unfortunate historical antecedent or reduce them to the barest minimum, as winner of Best Artiste Europe at the Africa Gospel Awards 2011 and one of Ghana's gospel musicians, I have decided to embark on a nationwide peace endorsement tour'.

With the release her third album, the young music star has managed to prove to gospel music fans that she would soon emerge as one of the most talented gospel artistes in Ghana.

Having sung for several years, Diana Hamilton has the voice that appeals to music lovers.
