A host of film makers, producers, actors and TV personalities including Majid Michel, Jackie Appiah, Chris Attoh, Joselyn Dumas, Desmond Elliot, Ama K Aberese and others attended the official launch of the rebranded AfricaMagic channels, held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel last week.

The launch party was part of a two-day celebration of the new AfricaMagic channels in Accra and saw Big Brother Africa host IK Osakioduwa and 53 Extra presenter Eku Edewor making an appearance.

The exciting night of cocktails, photos and networking included highlights such as Eku joining her Nigerian counterparts, IK and Desmond Elliot, to battle Ghanaian stars Majid, Chris Attoh and Alex Biney of Big Brother Amplified fame in a dance-off to test the 'Alanta' and 'Azonto' dance skills from both set of stars.

Also present were Confidence Haugen, Emilia Brobbey, Shirley Frimpong Manso, Socrates Safo, Jon Germain, KOD, Deborah Vanessa, Christie Brown and others.

There was also a musical performance from Efya while Managing Director of M-Net Africa, Biola Alabi and Managing Director of Multichoice Ghana, Cecil Sunkwa-Mills threw more light on the exciting changes in the AfricaMagic channels.

The guest of honor, Minister of Information, Fritz Baffour, in his address welcomed the new changes and congratulated M-Net for the many years of providing quality TV programming for families across Ghana.

The new channel is the new home for M-Net's flagship African productions such as Tinsel, Jacob's Cross, 53 Extra and Jara, with the dramatic new soaps 'Adams Apples', 'The Wild' and 'Inkaba' also featured on the action-packed channel line-up.

As part of its corporate social responsibility, MNet Africa also donated $5000 to the Ghana Parents Association for Childhood Cancers at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

IK, Eku, Majid, Jackie and Chris interacted with the children and also made their private pledges and donations.  The Association seeks to create public awareness of childhood cancer, to support parents who have a child undergoing cancer treatment and to assist with treatment costs.

Further donation can be made to their account at Ecobank Ridge branch, account number 0010084421904201.
