Guru, a popular Ghanaian musician has attributed most of his recent successes to good planning.

The “lapaz Toyota man” as he is now affectionately referred to by his fans appeared on the focus city show on focus FM in Kumasi where he was interviewed by Kwame Poku (DJ Scientific) as a prelude to the “Back to campus pool jam” at the KNUST pool side.

He explained to his funs that the “lapaz Toyota” song is all about appreciating what one has no matter how bad things seem.

DJ Scientific caught Guru off guard when he asked whether “azonto” should be just a dance or a genre of Ghanaian music.

But the hiplife artiste who quickly gathered his thoughts stated that “azonto” is all about communication and hence it is difficult to separate the music from the dance since they complement each other.

He also admitted that like other fads, “azonto” will give way to something else with time.

Guru, who expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Bola Ray as well as Empire Entertainment for helping him out in many ways, was again hit by another obviously unexpected question- whether he would leave Empire Entertainment if he found a bigger platform to project himself and his music.

He replied in the affirmative saying “life is all about moving on and life is all about moving from one standard to another”.

He says “lapaz Toyota” as well as “mmakuo” is on Democracy II, an upcoming album Ghanaians should watch out for.
