The executives of the newly formed Kantamanto Audio Visual Sellers Association of Ghana (KAVSAG), which was formed two years ago, would be inaugurated on September 22 at the Grand View Hotel in Accra.

The inaugural ceremony is expected to attract all the stakeholders in both the music and movie industries in the country as well as representatives from the Copyright office.

The association, according to the executives, was established to protect the rights of its members and to also ensure that works of music creators were also protected.

They disclosed that one of the aims of the association was to make sure things were done right, including putting in place a committee to help fight against the increasing rate of piracy in the country.

They noted that the association was solid in its activities, adding that it was ready to take the music industry in Ghana to another level.

KAVSAG members are renowned Ghanaian audio visual sellers and music producers whose interest is to promote peace and harmony to propel the growth of the industry.

The executives said they had voluntarily come together to work hard to promote not only their businesses but their social lives as well, adding that the leadership of the association would initiate programmes to educate its members on issues affecting the growth of the music industry in Ghana.

The leadership, they said, would promote greater participation and transparency at all levels, appealing to the members to always seek explanation of issues they were unclear about, to avoid spreading falsehood.

The executives of the association are Nana Yaw Amoako, president; Benjamin Okorley Nunoo, financial secretary; Yaw Agyapong Britwum, PRO; Vida Coffie, treasurer; Peter Vineyard, general secretary; Abigail Boamah, 2 nd vice president; Seth Amponsah, 1 st vice president; Isaac Gyimah, organizer and Antwi Atta Moses, deputy general secretary.
