Music is my Hobby - Kofi Boakye

Ghana's highlife sensational 'agama little' Kofi Boakye has said music has been his hobby since childhood.

The singer whose 'Obia se eye' single has gain much prominence in the capital for the past two weeks due to it easy-to-follow chorus and unique vocal reminiscent of auto-tune told www.pinkfmonlinegh.com that he is very proud of his voice.

“I really want to say very many thanks to one Mr. Apau, a former post master at Juaso in the Ashanti region whom I've lost contact with since I left the town to join the police service.

It was Mr. Apau who helped me to shape my God-given talent especially how to use the voice correctly and how to sustain my voice on a particular key.”

"I started doing music from my boyhood age at the Juaso Assemblies of God church where I used to lead chorus at various church crusades and even at the Police depot", he added.

“I just can't do without music because the least chance I get I have to write a line or two and at the moment I have over eighty songs ready to hit the music industry like the tsunami takes up the ocean.”

On how he can penetrate the almost collapsed music industry, Kofi Boakye said he's positive he can penetrate easily because of his magic voice and the genre that he has chosen.

“For the Ghanaian rich highlife to be recognized on the world music map, we have to encourage more live band shows because for me, any musician who cannot play a live band does not pass muster as a musician”.
