The authorities of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology have issued a statement to condemn the molestation of popular hip life artiste Mizbel by some students of the institution on the first of this month.
In a statement signed by the KNUST Registrar, Mrs Quarshie Sam, the university said it has learnt with shock and dismay the unfortunate incident that took place on campus during the climax of the Art Society Week celebration. It noted that the university condemns these acts of indiscipline unreservedly and expresses its deepest regrets to the performing artist and all those who may have suffered or inconvenienced as a result. It gave the assurance that the university is already investigating the matter in order to bring the perpetrators to book and sanctio! ned accordingly.
Furthermore, the statement assured the public that to forestall a recurrence of these acts of indiscipline within the student body politic and the university generally, the university is reviewing all guidelines for student activities in order to provide safeguards and ensure stringent observance. The university once again assures the public that it is committed to ensuring the security and safety of all its guests and demands their fullest co-operation in such matters.
