Face of Africa continues on MNet

LIGHTS, CAMERAS, ACTION
Episode 7 of M-Net's Face of Africa (Saturday December 12 at 19:00 CAT on M-Net) starts with 14 contestants at Boot Camp in Nairobi – but only 12 will progress to Swahili Fashion Week. Face of Africa Judge Jan Malan – one of the continent's leading fashion experts – says the models who make it to Face of Africa Boot Camp have an unprecedented opportunity to learn in 2 weeks what most working models only learn in 6-12 months. This week, the 14 finalists take on two prestigious photo shoots to see if they're able to put all their new knowledge into practice.

The True Love East Africa fashion team select their favourite models for a high-fashion editorial shoot at Fort Jesus in Old Town, Mombasa. Will our models-in-training impress Tue Love East Africa Fashion Editor Annabel Onyango and her team as they show off couture garments against the backdrop of one of Mombasa's most historic sites? The photo shoot will test the models' stamina, tenacity and flawless beauty to the maximum.

Meanwhile, 4 models including Ghana's Benedicta are warned that they are up for elimination this week and must fight for their place in the Top 12 during the Official Face of Africa Redds Calendar shoot with world-famous South African supermodel and photographer Josie Boraine. The calendar will feature the Top 12 Finalists in outfits inspired by the signs of the Zodiac. The 4 models in danger of elimination pair off in a head-to-head fashion shootout to see who will make it through to the prestigious Swahili Fashion Week – a high pressure show at which only the best models will excel.

M-Net Face of Africa is the continent's premiere fashion talent search, which sees scouts scouring the continent in search of Africa's next supermodel.

Don't miss the drama and action, every Saturday at 19:00 CAT, only on M-Net.

how crimes have been solved
the first 48 and cold case files return TO DSTV
The Crime and Investigation Network continues its groundbreaking programming when the channel screens new episodes of THE FIRST 48 and COLD CASE FILES over the festive season.

In medicine, they call it the 'critical hour', in criminal investigations; they call it The First 48 hours . This is a series that reveals how important the first 48 hours following a crime are critical too police investigators and DStv audiences will get to understand just why, every Friday at 23:10 CAT.

Ask any detective and they will tell you that if they don't have a lead, a suspect or make an arrest within 48 hours, their chances of solving the case are cut in half.

Families and victims of crimes depend on the crime scene investigators as well as the forensic evidence they collect to find the perpetrators. THE FIRST 48 follows homicide detectives during these initial critical hours as they race against time to solve their cases.

The hour-long program follows various detectives of a few select homicide teams as they track breaking cases, each with a running clock that builds pace as the 48 hours unalterably expires.

From the moment the crime is committed, every passing hour gives suspects more time to flee; witnesses time to forget details of the crime and crucial evidence to be lost. Viewers get to prove just how true this theory is by accompanying detectives to fresh crime scenes.

Continuing with crime and the investigation thereof, COLD CASE FILES also makes a welcome return to channel 255 in December.

There are a number of crimes that go unsolved because of a lack of evidence, witnesses or even leads. One such case that has remained unsolved for more than 40 years is that of the Zodiac killer in California and Nevada, America. The true identity of the man who terrorized the citizens of both cities has to this day, never been confirmed and speculation continues.

THE FIRST 48 investigates the pursuit and resolution of long and unsolved cases. The episodes follow the detectives and the family members whose undying devotion is the difference between bringing justice to the crime victims and having their loved ones lost in the drawers of the cold case files.

From the story of a criminal's childhood memory of his sister's death, to the use of mass DNA testing to find a killer, these detectives find the clues to solve crimes as many as 30 years old, and bring the guilty to justice.
