Kwaadee 'explodes' at Luv FM Old Skuuls Reunion
Ace hiplife icon Okumfuo Kwaadee on Saturday thrilled a milling crowd at the fifth edition of the Luv FM Old Skuuls Reunion held at the Ridge Park, Danyame, Kumasi.
In his major performance in the Garden City since his return from a four-year absence from the music scene, Kwaadee mounted the stage in simple outfits and ad-libbed fresh renditions of some of his old hits, sending the cheering crowd air-punching and all yelling.
Thousands of Skuuls Reunion revelers from various alumni turned out for the event, making this year's edition the biggest since its inception, according to organisers. The Luv FM Skuuls Reunion is the biggest and most-patronised outdoor social event in the Ashanti Regional capital, organizers say.
The event started early morning with sleek disc jockeys from Luv FM playing great songs to set the tone, and with intermittent reminders from several LUV FM on-air personalities of the coming of Okumfuor and his team of supporting artistes, there was enough to keep fans anxious.
And Kwaadee did not disappoint.
“I simply love this man; his lyrics will always send your feet tapping,” an old St Roses student said.
Kwaadee sang and danced as he worked the crowd into a frenzy.
Another impressive personality for the evening was Sammy B, who turned up with a great rap performance. He was indeed exciting.
The Luv FM Old Skuuls Reunion is the northern Ghana version of the Joy FM Old Skuuls Reunion that brings together thousands of friends from various alumni to reminisce school days and to make new friends.
