At 'Sting In A Tale' Premiere

To say that the 300 select guests who were invited to the special screening of Shirley Frimpong-Manso's latest movie A Sting In A Tale at the Silverbird Cinema last Saturday were given a rare treat will be an understatement.

Thanks to Merchant Bank, guests did not only have a first-to-see opportunity but were also spoilt with lots of drinks and hors d'oeuvres before and after the screening.

As if that was not enough, each guest was given a pack of popcorn during the screening.

A similar or close-to reception will be rolled out tomorrow November 6 and Saturday, November 7 when the grand premiere comes off at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Patrons have been promised photo opportunities with the cast and crew and drinks on the house. “It is part of the package, we want people to have a wonderful experience”, Shirley told Showbiz in Accra.

On what people should expect from her fourth production, the first three being Life and Living It, Scorned and The Perfect Picture, Miss Frimpong-Manso said, “there is everything different from all the three we have done, the setting has been more urban Ghana in our previous productions but this time it is rural Ghana and the storyline is also different.”

“People think that Sparrow productions is all about relationships but this time we tackled the issue of unemployment and it is entertaining from beginning to end. You know people are of the opinion that they have been to school and once they come out, they should be properly employed but the reality on the ground as we all know is that that is not the case.”
