JAN 16, 2018 LISTEN

A Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) legal team has suggested that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) majority will cover up the findings of the ongoing cash-for-seat probe.

Abraham Amaliba has, therefore, proposed that the NDC minority on the probing committee should publish a contrasting report to the official one that the committee will come out with.

“…I have seen from the way the committee is working that there will be an attempt to cover up”, Mr. Amaliba said on Joy News’ AM Show Tuesday.

He added that the two minority (NDC) members of the committee [Ketu North MP and Deputy Minority leader – James Klutse Avedzi and Bolga East MP – Dr. Dominic Ayine] should come out with a minority report from the official one that the committee will present at the end of the probe.

“…my suggestion is that the two minority members of the committee should also write an opinion after the bigger committee has come out with its opinion,” he said.

MP for Assin South John Ntim Fordjour
The narration from the President of the Millennium Excellence Foundation ; Ashim Morton, exonerates the Ministry of Trade and Industry from any wrongdoing.

“…any attempt to tag the ministry and the government failed”, he said.

Mr. Fordjour believes “the minority is losing its credibility by these attempts to smear the NPP government of non-existent wrongdoing”.

He stated that the utterances of Mr. Amaliba were a hint of the mischief that the minority NDC intends to play with the findings.
