Ejisu (Ash), Jan 11, GNA - A leading member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Kwaku Ntim Twumasi, has scolded supporters of the party acting outside the law, describing their conduct as completely unjustified and tasteless.

Ghana, he said, needed to work for everybody and that nobody must be made to feel harassed or persecuted.

'The wrongs and mistakes of the past could not and must never be repeated. We must get right with the law.'

Mr. Twumasi, hugely popular and respected by the rank and file of the party in the Ejisu Constituency, was interacting with some NPP youth in the area.

This comes amid reported attempts to forcibly take over state property including the Passport office, National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and Youth Employment Agency (YEA) offices in parts of the country by alleged over-zealous party supporters.

He counseled that they stepped back from any acts of misconduct and allowed things to be done properly.

Mr. Twumasi called for patience, tolerance and genuine commitment towards national reconciliation.

That, he indicated, was the way forward to sustain the nation's democracy on the path of growth.
