The Progressive People's Party (PPP) has attributed its poor showing at last Wednesday's election to what it says was the Electoral Commission's (EC) initial 'illegal disqualification' from contesting.

Second Vice-Chair of PPP, Belinda Bulley says the back and forth after the EC disqualified the party's Presidential Candidate, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, from contesting in the 2016 presidential election.

She told Joy FM's morning show host Kojo Yankson, Tuesday that after the October 10 announcement, the reception the party received from electorates when they went campaigning was distant.

Her comments follow a similar concern raised by t he Presidential Candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC) who blamed his initial disqualification by the EC and electoral irregularities for the abysmal performance of his party.

In an interview with Joy News Monday, he said his initial disqualification was also responsible for his poor showing at the polls.

"I on my part, where my pastor voted I got zero in this election, I am sure those so-called spoilt ballots, a lot of it will have my votes there," he said.
