Kwamikrom (V/R), Oct 26, GNA - Former President Jerry John Rawlings has said that Ghanaians no longer liked coups as a means of changing governments, but rather preferred the ballot box and urged all registered voters to exercise their franchise on December 7. Addressing a large number of National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters at a rally at Kwamikrom on Monday, the Ex-President said; "truth is more precious than the gun and you should not joke with your freedom".

He accused the media of sometimes failing to put across statements he made to the people.

The Former President, who is the founder of the NDC, had earlier addressed a similar rally at Nkonya Ahenkro as part of a day's electioneering campaign tour to the Biakoye and Kete-Krachi Constituencies.

He appealed to them to vote for Professor John Atta Mills to win the presidential race so as to bring about true economic reforms. Other speakers were, Dr Kwabena Adjei, MP for Biakoye; Mr Modestus Ahiable, NDC Volta Regional Chairman and Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Bandua, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Biakoye.
