Chief Executives to hold forum

GNA

Accra, June 16, GNA - Public Service Chief Executives would hold a forum at the Accra International Conference Centre on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 to commemorate the United Nations Public Service Day and Africa Day of Administration and Civil Service.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) is organising the forum in collaboration with the Office of The Senior Minister to afford the Chief Executives the opportunity to share experiences of recurring issues and themes in the management of public sector reforms and build up productive and positive networking among them.

It would also enable the Chief Executives to gain an understanding of how their "local" concerns fit into that of the larger public service-wide policy issues.

Topics to be discussed include: " The Ghana Poverty Reduction Strategy: Opportunities and Challenges for the Public Sector" and "Delivery of Public Services: Expectations of Private Sector".

President John Agyekum Kufuor would address the forum. Other speakers would include Mr Joseph Henry Mensah, MP and Senior Minister; Professor George Gyan Baffour, Director-General, National Development Planning Committee and Dr Osei Boeh-Ocansey, Director-General Private Enterprise Foundation.
