Statement: PLB On Hooliganism

The Premier League Board (PLB) has noted with grave concern the brazen acts of violence and hooliganism at some league centres in some recent matches in the GLO Premier League.

Following an emergency meeting held today in Accra, the PLB has resolved to deal drastically with all acts of hooliganism at the league centres, going into the last four matches the league.

The PLB has taken the decision to reinforce security at various centres in the remaining matches of the league.

Meanwhile, the PLB condemns the barbaric acts witnessed during some of the recent matches and would like to advise the clubs to restrain their supporters forthwith from visiting brutality on their opponents.

The PLB also reminds Ghanaian football fans that the name of the game is 'fair play and tolerance' and not brutality and intolerance.

Stern punishment awaits all wrongdoers in accordance with regulations governing the game and its participation.

Thank you.
