
Nana Dag Kofi Akyampon, an ex Mfantseman Municipal Assembly law maker and a special consultant of a Ghanaian non-profit, the Centre for Human Development and Social Change, Ghana has urged Ghanaians to vote for Peace and Security to make the African Continent proud with Friday's election.
Speaking at a civic education programme at Gyankobo-Mensakrom in the Central region, Nana called on Ghanaians to go out in their numbers and vote peacefully in both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections to make the process a success.
In an exclusive interview with Prekese GhanaMedia, he urged Ghanaians to protect the freedom, security and peace that our nation founders fought for with their lives citing the great Ghanaian patriotic song "Hen Ara Hen Asase Ni".
He said Ghana being the first country on the African continent to gain its independence and also to push for the total liberation of Africa, makes it a model country where all African countries South of the Sahara look up to, for Inspiration in terms of participating in electoral process”. He added "the eyes of the world is on Ghana, so our quality of behavior that we are used to, should be at its best"
Ms. Felicia Okine, the Executive Director of the NGO, called on all Ghanaians to vote responsibly and avoid entering into unnecessary arguments with other people after voting. She told the people to go home after their voting is done, adding that the results can be viewed on Television or on radio. She called on the community to exercise their franchise in peace.
Opanyin Agya Mbiri, the Odikro and a herbal specialist pleaded with the Youth to put on their best behavior during and after the elections. He also called on the media to avoid broadcasting inflammatory messages and reports that are not verified.
