In one of his popular highlife song called NSEM PII, Ghanaian super highlife musician, SMART NKANSAH now based in UK educates Ghanaians about MANY UNTOLD STORIES ( Nsem hyehye sum ase). In Reality, many of our young pretty ladies and sometimes adults, AND recently young boys ( because of "kojobasia" activities in Ghana) have become victims of rape and sexual assaults many of them at the hands of people they or the family trusted holistically. Many of such victims become helpless in a society where the discussion of sex related issues and crimes are more or less a taboo. So in the midst of these conditioned mindset and its attendant disgrace (stigma)for the victim and their families who would love to tell their stories? How do we BREAK this jinx? What can we all do to HELP victims of sexual violence:?

===A TRUE LIFE STORY===***MY FATHER'S BEST FRIEND RAPED ME

***pls i want you to help me share my story,i live in Harare and i'm the last child of my parents,i'm just 19 years old.

i wrote A Level last year and got 14 points i vow to myself that i must get my admission this year,it was my 1st time of writing jamb.my parents where so happy and my dad bought me a blackberry phone and he promised to get me a car if i could also pass my University level exam-,so bcos of this i studied harder than before.it has always been my dream to study at the university of Zimbabwe,so on the week of the post-UME my dad told me that i was going to stay wit his business manager who was in charge of the Masasa branch,of which i refuse,i told him i had friends in Mount Pleasant.

i could stay with but he told me that he was concerned about my safety and that he wants me to stay with someone he can trust,so i had no choice than to agree.So a day to the exam i travelled to Masasa,on getting to the park i called my dad's manager and told him that i've arrive,in 30mins time he came with his car and we headed straight to his home;

,he asked me how was the journey and i said it was stressful and that it was my first time of coming to Masasa Park,after a brief chat,he told me that he knows i'm hungry that i should give him a moment while he prepare something for me,so i asked him about his wife and kids and he said the wife travelled with the kids to see her parents and that she may come back the next day,then he left the room to prepare the food.

So i was there for sometime thinking about the exam and how it would look like,so i decided to do a little revision,then i went to take my bath,as i was getting dress he suddenly came into the room wearing boxers,i was surprised and i ask him if the food was ready bcos i was becoming afraid bcos of the looks in his eyes,he came closer and said i look so beautiful,i replied thank you sir,then i ask if he could excuse me for a moment while i get dress.

Before i could say anything more he pushed me to the bed,pressing my neck and pulling off his boxers,i struggled wit him,i bite him,i fingered him,i scream as loud as i could to make him stop but refused to give up#CRYING#,he kept pressing my neck and i was begining to loose strenght,then he gave me the hottest slap i've ever known

,he kept beating me as hard as he could,i kept struggling with him,he ejaculated inside me#OH GOD# and kept abusing me,then he tried to suck my breast forcefully and started biting my breast, atlast i hit him on his manhood and ran out of the house naked,on getting to the gate it was locked i tried to call for help put no one came to my aid it was a bushes environment,then he came out the told me that he won't hurt me again that i can come inside

,I refuse and told him to get me my things which he did and i got dress,then he opened the gate for me and i ran 4 my life,i was able to locate an hotel were i spent the night,

I COULDN'T TELL ANYONE I WAS SO ASHAME.Now i can't even tell my dad or mum,my dad will hate me for live,i can't face that,i would just kill myself.i can't stand it if my dad,mum,brother s,and sisters know about it i won't mean anything to them any more#CRYING# idon't want my dad to hate me.PLS I'M CONFUSE,I FEEL LIKE KILLING MYSELF!!"
