Asamankese, Nov. 4, GNA - Mr Seth Otchere, the West Akyem Municipal Chief Executive, has commended assembly members for their dedication and selfless contribution to the progress of the district over the past four years.
He said their commitment had led to the assembly being able to implement most of its development projects.
He paid tribute to those who may not return to the assembly after the up-coming District Level elections and urged them to continue to support to those who would come back to continue the work in the House.
Mr Otchere said this in an interview with the GNA at Asamankese after the dissolution of the assembly to pave way for district assembly election on December 28.
He said the Executive Committee of the assembly was impressed about the financial performance of management and the revenue collectors and urged them to continue with that performance.
He however raised queries on collections from concessionaries, which had considerably reduced from GH¢ 15, 800 in 2009 to GH¢ 2,200 in 2010.
Mr Ochere alleged that the money had been pocketed by some individuals and therefore urged the financial auditors to go into it and bring the perpetrators to book.
He said the assembly was able to undertake a number of development projects and these include education infrastructure, health development, improvement in drainage system and construction and rehabilitation of roads.
