Ghanaians asked to embrace hand washing with soap idea
Awutu Beraku (C/R), June 12, GNA - Nai Kwao Kurabi Clottey III, a Private Medical Practitioner, has reiterated the need for Ghanaians to embrace the concept of handwashing with soap being propagated by the Ministry of Health.
He also asked them to subject themselves to periodic medical checks to avoid serious health problems.
Making the call at a meeting at Awutu Beraku, Nai Clottey who is also the Mankrado of the Awutu Traditional Area, reminded Ghanaians of the need to heed to useful advice given by officials of the Ministry of Health.
He reiterated that washing one's hands with water and soap after visiting the toilet and shaking hands with people before eating was one of the best ways to prevent deadly communicable diseases.
Nai Clottey charged parents and guardians to make a point to teach their children, especially those below ten years, on the need to wash their hands with soap after visiting toilets and also after playing in sand before taking their meals.
He reminded people in the area of the current rainy season and the various health challenges associated with the period and strongly counselled them to spare sometime out of their intense farming activities to tidy up their surroundings to avoid the outbreak of epidemics.
He maintained that "we can only pursue our agricultural and other economic ventures successfully if we are in good condition of health".
