A crucial second half strike from Eric Gawu proved priceless as glorious Accra Hearts of Oak piped Kessben by a goal to nil at the Ohene Gyan Sports Stadium.

It was a game of two halves as Kessben mesmerised the home side with some delightful play in the first half, but wasted the glorious scoring opportunities that came their way.

With only the goalkeeper to beat, Owusu Peprah, somehow, could only manage the side net, denying Kessben a well deserved lead.

After the interval Hearts dominated the exchanges, creating and wasting the numerous chances that came their way.

Substitutes Joshua Opoku and Felix Baffoe kept the hopes of a Hearts opener souring, surging forward at every available opportunity.

Baffoe in one of those onslaughts up-field down the right flank released Eric Gawu in the 71st minute who tapped the ball into the yawning net for Hearts' first and only goal of the game.

The phobians now have 9 points out of a possible 12 and occupy top four position after week four.

The premier league takes a two-week break to allow for the Christmas celebration as well as the December 28 presidential run-off.
