Foreign Minister Attends Summit In Cote d’Ivoire

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Nana Akufo-Addo, will lead Ghana's delegation to a mini-summit on Cote d'Ivoire, under the Chairmanship of the UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan. The meeting is expected to take place in Yamoussoukro, today to discuss the Ivorian Peace Process.

Leaders expected to attend the summit, include the Chairman of the African Union, Denis Sassou N'Guesso, African Union Mediator and South African President, Thabo Mbeki, ECOWAS Chairman and President of Niger, Mamadou Tandja and President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria.

Leaders of the various political forces, including the former President Bedie, former Prime Minister Ouattara and the leader of the New Forces, Soro Guillaume, are expected to attend the meeting.

The delegation will leave Accra today and return the same day.
