President John Dramani Mahama has directed the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and other relevant state agencies to identify all restricted waterways and take urgent steps to address recurring flooding across the country.

The directive follows recent flooding incidents that threatened lives and destroyed property in several communities.

Government says the move is part of a broader strategy to improve drainage systems, prevent encroachment on waterways, and reduce the impact of flooding on affected communities.

Authorities are expected to intensify monitoring and enforcement to ensure compliance and safeguard lives and property.
