A sanitation crisis is looming in the Weija Gbawe Municipality following the inability of tricycle operators to offload refuse at the Weija Gbawe Landfill site.

The situation has raised concerns among residents and authorities, as refuse continues to pile up in communities, worsening sanitation conditions across the municipality.

The challenge comes at a time when choked drains and poor waste management are already contributing to increased flooding risks in parts of Accra.

Residents are calling for urgent intervention from authorities to restore waste disposal operations and prevent a full-blown sanitation emergency.
