Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, has embarked on a tour of selected municipal assemblies in the Greater Accra Region, including Ga West Municipal Assembly, Ga East Municipal Assembly, and Ga North Municipal Assembly, to assess the performance of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).

Addressing officials during the tour, the Minister explained that the exercise is intended to evaluate how effectively local authorities are utilizing resources allocated to them under the government's decentralisation agenda.

He emphasized the importance of accountability, efficient service delivery, and prudent resource management in driving development at the local level.

The assessment forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen local governance and improve development outcomes across the Greater Accra Region.
