Ga East MCE Blames Weak Enforcement on Illegal Building for Recurring Floods

Speaking during an inspection of flood-prone areas, the MCE revealed that some developers exploit weekends and other periods of reduced supervision to undertake unauthorized construction projects without the necessary approvals. According to him, these illegal structures obstruct natural drainage channels and contribute significantly to flooding, posing risks to lives, properties, and infrastructure. The comments come amid growing concerns over flooding in parts of Ga East and renewed calls for stricter enforcement of planning regulations and environmental laws.
