Iran, Israel halt strikes following latest escalation

Iran and Israel have announced a halt to military operations against each other following a rapid escalation of hostilities over June 7 and 8.

The latest round of strikes began on the evening of June 7, when Iran launched missiles at northern Israel in response to Israel's expanded military operations in Lebanon. Israel retaliated, triggering a new round of tensions between the two regional rivals.
