Peter Aryee, with his household name ARAZ, is one of the pioneers in the hiplife music in Ga Language. He made the hit song Laimomo, Ebaa Do Bo-literary meaning “old firewood”, 'it would pain you' respectively among other songs which became loud in the country and beyond, mostly in Accra and Takoradi.
His last album before the latest one which carried fresh tracks including the re-mix of Laimomo under the management of DJ Vyroxx, former programs coordinator and the host of drive time show dubbed "Top City Jam" on Top Radio, now in Italy made news on TV, Radio and in the newspapers of an attempt to go farming after years of lost battle in the music industry.
Araz is in danger with his latest "Ghanaians Hate Ghana" album, been the fourth release of his songs and on which he has re-loaded previous tracks from the third album currently heard on Radio, TV and in the print papers as well as the music market.
In an interview in Accra with the Weekly Fylla, Araz disclosed that immediately when the track started enjoying airplay in the country, he has had strange calls which come along with threat as to why he chose the lyrics "Ghanaians Hate Ghana" in the song. Most of the serial callers have thrown out warnings to put his life in danger if he performs with the song on stage. Some of them have enquired about why such a song and its video should be aired and directed by good Ghanaian citizens.
As to whether the song is meaningful in lyrics or vibes, the musician had this to say "I am a Ghanaian and at the look of things, I have realized that things we do as Ghanaians tells a lot about the fact that we don't cherish our rich and dear country. Why should authorities take directives from the whites?
“Why our color should be viewed as inferior as in bleaching of the skin, in white religious belief- Jesus imaged White and Satan as a Black man, elderly take advantage of young girls and boys and seduce them, bribery, stealing, among other behaviors which brings down the reputation of Africans and especially Ghanaians tells a lot to buttress my song”.
Irrespective of what the strange callers are making him aware of, the artiste says he is back for good in doing music and would stand through all trials for a fact that he believes he is letting out the hidden truth in the society.
He urge all his fans to get a copy of this particular one and thank all those who has brought him this far.
