Star Oil Company Limited has launched the Xornametor Foundation, a not-for-profit entity that will provide scholarship to brilliant but needy students.

The Foundation was launched last Friday with an initial amount of GH¢100,000 from Star Oil.

It also raised an additional GH¢135,000 through pledges and donation during the event.

'The humble beginnings of the patron and his associates are the compelling reasons for the establishment of the Xornametor Foundation. It is the desire of the founders to brighten every corner where Star Oil operates,' Board Chairman of Star Oil, Dr Leonard Kaledzi said at the launch.

He said Star Oil believes that 'the youth of Ghana are a major asset and their physical, social and spiritual needs must be met in order to enable them have improved opportunity and quality of life so they can impact Ghana's progress.'

The launch of the Xornametor Foundation coincided with the inauguration of Star Oil's newly-built ultramodern corporate head office at Cantonments in Accra last Friday.
