The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will drape in all red and black on Friday, November 27, in what the party has described as #RedFriday to register their protest over how the security agencies have dealt with the raid at its headquarters.

The largest opposition party in Ghana is encouraging its 'members, sympathisers, executives, Members of Parliament, and the leadership of the party' to gather at its Asylum Down headquarters in Accra to speak out.

'The New Patriotic Party will gather at the Party Headquarters to speak to the outrageous, orchestrated Monday dawn raid of the same Head Office by enemies of democracy, under the worrying guise of the State,' a statement from the party signed by Perry Okudzeto, a Deputy Director of Communications, stated.

'In this regard we call upon all Ghanaians, who believe in, and want to protect our democracy, to express their outrage boldly by joining in marking #RedFriday by wearing red, or black with red armbands. An attack on the opposition is an attack on democracy. Show solidarity. Wear #RedFriday,' it said.

The party's headquarters was raided during the early hours of Monday as faceless people dressed in military and police outfits locked up party security men and made away with hard disk drives amidst demolition of party properties.

The police have arrested 11 people in connection with the crime and are currently on bail after appearing in court yesterday.
