BOSTON The state's secretary of environmental affairs is leaving Massachusetts for Ghana.
That's where Robert Golledge has been appointed as the country's new director for the Peace Corps.

The 16-year veteran of the Office of Environmental Affairs isn't new to the volunteer agency. He spent the early part of his career in Costa Rica working with local farmers for the Peace Corps.

Golledge says he's honored to work with the group again, and felt fortunate to have worked for the state.

Ghana was the first country to host the Peace Corps after its launch by President John F Kennedy in 1961.
