HEARTS FANS ARE FURIOUS Fans of Hearts of Oak went on rampage after a bitter one-all draw with Chelsea of Bechem in their Glo Premier League clash at the Ohene Djan Stadium on Wednesday.

The enraged fans raided the pitch and charged at some officials of the club after an increasingly difficult season.

Officials of the club had to run for cover after the final whistle and it was a free-for-all fight on the pitch among some fans.

Coach Nii Noi Thompson, his backroom staff and the players had to be shielded by the security men.

The security detailed at the stadium had to call for reinforcement after it was realized the obviously disenchanted fans were not happy with turn of events.

Ghanasocernet's Patrick Akoto reports of a broken dynasty among the top echelon of the club and the supporters front after their title ambitions were blown apart.

The Ghana Football Association is expected to launch an investigation into the incident and hand punishment to the culprits.

Hearts failed to win for the sixth consecutive time after another disappointing draw with the newly-promoted side.

The draw means a Kotoko win over Hasaacas on Thursday at home after it was rained off will see the champions topple their perennial rivals.

But the club still maintain top spot with a two point lead over Hearts of Lions and must now pray Kotoko slip.
