Black Loopers win bronze at African Championship

The female team of the Ghana Table Tennis Association; Black Loopers won bronze at the just ended African Seniors Table Tennis Championship held in Kinshasa, DR Congo.

The male team which included two Under-18 players, Derek Abrefa and

Felix Lartey also gave a good account of themselves by beating high-ranked players to maintain Ghana's 9th position of the 24 top ranked teams.

Secretary General of GTTA, Kwame Amponfi Jnr. told GNA Sports that the performance of the female team also saw them moving eight places up to the fourth position.

He emphasized that emerging success at the Table Tennis front was due to the support and co-operation enjoyed from the National Sports Council, the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports, Institutions, and the media.

He appealed to all for continuous support and co-operation in the coming years to enable the GTTA recapture its past glory. Amponfi also used the occasion to wish players and stakeholders a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
