I am ready for the Black Stars job Bashiru Hayford declares

Ashanti Gold's head coach Avram Grant has declared his readiness for Ghana's top job by claiming he is ready to coach the Black Stars.

The AshGold boss led the Miners to win their first league title in almost two decades and is seen by many as one of the best tactical brains on the local scene.

With the Black Stars job set to be available after the AFCON in Gabon next January, Hayford has revealed his intention to compete for the job.

'I have been unsuccessful in the past when the opportunity has come up,' Hayford told Citi Sports reporter Benjamin Nketsia

'A window has not presented itself since then but if the chance comes up again I will apply.

'I am a Ghanaian and if coaches are being sought after and I feel I have the requisite knowledge why wont I put my name forward?

'If I am a carpenter and carpenters are needed for a job I will apply for that job.'
