Ghana Premier League: Hearts of Oak yet to decide on Soulama Abdoulaye's future

Hearts of Oak Public Relation Officer (PRO) Kwame Opare Addo has insisted that the club is yet to decide on Soulama Abdoulaye's future.

The experienced Burkinabe import joined the Phobians as a free agent two seasons ago after he terminated his contract with Asante Kotoko.

The 38 year-old shot stopper's contract at the Accra giants is set to run out and reports has stressed that the former Asfa Yennega goalie contract will not be renewed by the Ghanaian giants. READ MORE: Lionel Messi spotted in ancient painting at Amsterdam Museum

'I know that Soulama [Abdoulaye] is a Hearts of Oak player,' Opare Addo told Ash FM. 'His contract will be running out at the end of the season. If at the end of the season the technical team believes he is one of the people we will need as going forward we will enter into negotiation with him. '

'Now all the clubs have released their players. Players must go back home and rest and be with their family, so after a decision is made and the team feels Soulama is needed and vice versa we will sit down and negotiate for contract extension,' he added.

He continued: 'Sometimes it will not be good to wait till a player contract runs out before you start negotiating with him for extension. So everything that we will do for now will depend on the future we want to build for Hearts of Oak.'

Soulama since joining the Phobians has played over 40 Premier League games for the former Premier League champions. He will be remembered for his howler that cost the Phobains the three points as they lost 0-1 to Asante Kotoko in the 2015/ 16 Ghana Premier League first round game in Accra.
