Sinisa Mihajlovic says Joe Hart is giving Torino "more confidence" after they claimed claimed a first home Serie A win over Roma in 26 years.

England goalkeeper Hart thwarted old Manchester City team-mate Edin Dzeko at every turn at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday, underpinning the hosts' 3-1 victory.

Loan forward Iago Falque bagged a brace against his parent club, while fit-again striker Andrea Belotti found the net after just eight minutes of his first start since thigh trouble.

Francesco Totti converted a penalty for his 250th Serie A goal, two days shy of his 40th birthday, but the Roma veteran's goal proved scant consolation for the frustrated visitors.

"We signed Hart for his enthusiasm, spirit and experience," said Torino head coach Mihajlovic. "Before he arrived I spoke to him to understand his spirit.

"He is a great guy and a wonderful professional, an international level goalkeeper with great charisma. His presence makes the rest of the team feel more confident."

Hart's growing assurance in Serie A contrasts starkly with his ignominious Manchester City exit, the 29-year-old ruthlessly farmed out by new boss Pep Guardiola.

Hart endured a frustrating debut with Torino, his weak punch gifting Andrea Masiello a goal as his new side bombed out 2-1 at Atalanta on September 11.

Since then though, the England shot-stopper has kept two clean sheets and performed well again in the win over Roma, drawing praise from his new boss.

"This was our best performance of the season: I saw 11 bulls out there today," said Mihajlovic. "We scored three goals, hit the woodwork and created another four or five clear-cut chances.

"We allowed Roma very little, so it was a deserved victory."
