Accra, Sep 15, GNA - Mr. Ignatius Elletey, Secretary-General of the National Paralympics Committee (NPC), has stated that the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS), was responsible for the participation of the team at the Rio 2016 Paralympics Games in Brazil.

Mr. Elletey told the GNA Sports, the Ministry was responsible for the airfare of five officials and their per-diems of the officials and athletes as well.

'So far as I know, the ministry catered for the flight tickets, kits for the team, per diem and other allowances.

"I don't know where all these rumours of only per diem are coming from, but so far I can confidently say that the team was catered for by the ministry.'

Mr. Elletey added that the people going round with such rumours might not be content with what was made available for the team.

'It is only people who are not well satisfied will say it was only per diem that was paid.'

The Ghana team was made up of Charles Narh Teye - Power lifter (80kg) class, Yusif Amadu-T42 high jump and Mumuni Alem - Cycling (C2).
