Ghana Football Association president, Kwesi Nyantakyi has expressed his gratitude to the Black Stars players for their sense of dedication to national duty ahead of Ghana's clash against Rwanda on Saturday.

13 players were present for the Black Stars first training session on Tuesday at the Accra Sports Stadium, despite the challenges the foreign-based players had to go through by taking care of the airfares, after the Sports Ministry made it clear their finances were insufficient to cover their tickets.

'Unfortunately, there were some issues of purchasing air tickets for the game.

"Some of the players who are here and some of those who are not present contributed to ensuring you arrived. For showing a high level of patriotism, I ask that you have to clap for yourself for the dedication and patriotism shown," he said after the Black Stars training on Tuesday.

It would be recalled that the Sports Ministry believed this was an avenue for the Black Stars technical handlers to give local based players an opportunity to serve their country since the game has no relevance on the Black Stars qualification for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)-Ghana qualified for the continental showpiece with a match to spare.

However, since the foreign players had already been invited, they volunteered to foot the airfares.
