Vincent Oppong Asamoah has indicated that the Black Stars should not be paid anything more than $3,000 if they grind out the results against Rwanda on Saturday.
The foreign-based players of the Black Stars volunteered to foot their airfares for the tie against Rwanda after the Sports Ministry said they are cash-strapped, so can't afford the tickets.
According to Vincent Oppong Asamoah, the Black Stars should be paid something in the region of $3,000 if they beat Rwanda because the game has no bearing on Ghana's qualification to the AFCON
'We can't pay the usual $8,000; we pay for a win. We wanted to invite local players because of our finances at the moment. If you ask me I would say that they should be paid $3,000 for a win against Rwanda
'We will pay them the per-diems and also approve for hotels, but we can't afford the $8,000," he told Adom FM.
It would be recalled that Ghana have already qualified for the 2017 AFCON, so the final hurdle against Rwanda on Saturday is for mere academic exercise.
