The Youth and Sports Ministry and the GFA standoff has moved into a higher gear.

The two parties' verbal attacks in the past weeks have gone viral on various media platforms.

Yesterday, the Minister rubbished GFA’s boss Kwesi Nyantakyi claim that the domestic league is attractive, and has consequently tagged it as hollow.

Earlier, the GFA president had likened the sector Minister’s approach to addressing issues bedeviling the country’s football to that of a serial caller.

Nyantakyi in an earlier interview responding to the Minister’s assertion that the league has lost its desired steam disagreed pointing out that it rather the most sought after discipline run mostly by individuals and that government is a beneficiary.

The GFA boss wondered why the minister would not support its efforts, but rather chastising his outfit at least of provocation.

To the Minister, the days when he used the media in tackling issues are over and that it is high time he acted.

He has recently authorized the FA to employ the services of the local components of the Black Stars for the Rwanda AFCON qualifier this Saturday.

That decision according to sources did not go down well with the FA and has accordingly stuck to its original decision to use the foreign based players for the clash.
