League Report Ghana Premier League: Disciplinary Committee clears two Kotoko players of violent conduct
AUG 19, 2016 LISTEN

The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association has thrown out charges levelled against Amos Frimpong and Ernest Sowah.

The centre referee who officiated Asante Kotoko's 1-2 defeat against New Edubiase United wrote in his match report that the two players of the Porcupine Warriors assaulted him.

However, they have been cleared by the Disciplinary Committee, after making an appearance.

'Satisfied with the video evidence before it, that, the actions of Amos Frimpong after the final whistle of the match do not amount to a breach of regulations. The evidence does not support the charge' - the result of which the charges were dismissed.

Regarding Ernest Sowah, the committee pointed out that, it 'Considered all the evidence and holds that once the referee (against whom the offence occurred) was of the opinion that, the offence deserved only a yellow card as punishment; the Disciplinary Committee shall decline the invitation for further punishment'.
