JUL 31, 2016 LISTEN

The Confederation of African Football has sent a medical doctor to supervise the MRI scans for Nigeria's U17 team, Africanfootball.com has exclusively reported.

A top Egyptian doctor arrived in Lagos last week to ensure the Golden Eaglets MRI scan for the players were not manipulated.

This is a move by the continent's governing body to clampdown on age cheating in youth tournament.

'This is the first time that a doctor from an independent country will be sent by CAF to supervise the MRI scan. It is expected to further rid the U17s of age cheats,' a source informed only AfricanFootball.com

'A doctor from Nigeria was also in Cameroon to do the same thing all in an effort to ensure only eligible players feature in the U17 AFCON, whose qualifiers begin in August."
