Ghana international Wakaso Mubarak marked his debut for Greek giants Panathinaikos in a narrow 1-0 win over Swedish side AIK Solna in the Uefa Europa League on Thursday evening.
The 26-year-old was handed a starting role by manager Andrea Stramaccioni and he lasted until the 71st minute.
The former Espanyol and Las Palmas was booked in the 59th minute but played an influential role as Brazilian defender Rodrigo Moledo scored the only goal of the game in the 79th minute.
While Wakaso was making his debut, Ghanaian defensive duo of Ebenezer Ofori and Patrick Kpozo also started the game for AIK and lasted the entire period of the game.
The narrow win for Panathinaikos means Wakaso and his new team-mates must travel to Sweden for the reverse fixture with extra work to get favourable results.
