Ghana pair of Frank Acheampong and Dennis Appiah were involved in Anderlecht's 2-2 draw with Russian side FK Rostov in Tuesday night's Uefa Champions League qualifying round clash.

Acheampong was introduced in the 69th minute by the Royal Club at the Stadion Olimp - 2 but Sowah was unused as the Belgians stole a vital away point.

However French-born Ghanaian defender Dennis Appiah started the game and lasted the entire period of the game for the Pro League powerhouse.

Anderlecht took a 3rd minute lead when Sofiane Hanni right footed a shot from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner.

But Rostov levelled 13 minutes later through Saeid Ezatolahi from a close range effort.

Youri Tielemans fired home from outside of the box to restore the lead for Anderlecht but Dmitriy Poloz converted from the spot to end the game in a draw.

While Acheampong was making his third consecutive appearance in European competition in a third season, defender Appiah was making his debut after joining from French Ligue 1 side Caen.

Appiah started his career with AS Monaco and played under Claudio Ranieri during his time at the club but left to join Caen for footballing reasons.

He emerged one of the best outfield players in the French top-flight last season which engineered his move to Anderlecht.

Meanwhile Sowah, an 18-year-old lateral defender signed from Ghanaian side Dreams FC, had the opportunity to appear on the substitute bench of Anderlecht in the lucrative competition.
