League Report Ghana Premier League: Kotoko pick Wa All Stars over Hearts to win the league
JUL 26, 2016 LISTEN

Asante Kotoko deputy Operation Manager Alhaji Ali Maradona has thrown his weight behind Wa All Stars to win the Ghana Premier League instead of their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak.

The Phobians after match day 21 of the ongoing campaign are top of the log sheet with 38 points while the Wa based club sit at the second position with 35 points with one game in hand.

Following last Sunday's 1-1 draw game between Kotoko and Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, it seems the Kumasi based club management member has given up on the title chase as they are five points behind the Phobians with nine games left.

'There are nine matches to go. If Kotoko cannot win the league, we will work against Hearts. We will work for Wa All Stars because they also have what it takes.

'Look at what happened in England, Leicester City winning the league, no one ever imagined it. We [Kotoko] will ensure Hearts do not taste league glory,' he told Class FM.

Wa All Stars since gaining promotion into the Ghana Premier League eight seasons ago, they are yet to win the domestic top-flight championship.
