League Report GHPL Wrap: Hearts of Oak still unbeaten on the road in 2016, Champions AshGold manage a draw and more
JUL 25, 2016 LISTEN

The second Super clash of the league season went down in Kumasi this Sunday with the two giants playing out a 1-1 draw game.

Michael Osei, the gaffer of Asante Kotoko went into the game under serious pressure steaming from the clubs humiliating defeat to Dwarfs in the midweek.

Sergio Traguil and his club on the other hand were full of confidence leading their opponent and rival Kotoko with a 5 point margin.

In the game itself Kotoko had to make do without the services of defenders Ahmed Adams and Eric Donkor, Hearts were also missing lead striker Cosmos Dauda.

Kwame Boateng gave the Porcupine Warriors the lead Seventeen minutes into the game with a rebound after Soulama had pulled a fantastic save on Dauda Mohammed's volley.

The reds held onto the lead as Hearts' attackers were sluggish on and off the ball in the first half of the game.

Hearts came in for the 2nd half a different side, typical of them this season with the introduction of Eric Kumi.

It wasn't so surprising when the Phobias drew parity in the 55th minute with Patrick Razak coolly slotting home a cheeky pass from a previously of color Isaac Mensah.

Hearts could've made their 2nd half dominance count better but it seemed they were content with a point.

The game between 2nd and 4th placed All Stars and Medeama SC couldn't come because of the latter's midweek game in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Kojo Poku's brace was all Hasaacas needed to beat Dreams FC 2-0 at the   Stadium.

On from thumping Asante Kotoko, Ebusua Dwarfs snatched a vital away point at the Len Clay Stadium against Ashanti Gold FC.

An early goal from Alhaji Sani Faisal was cancelled out by Ashanti Gold's talisman Shafiu Mumuni. The Crabs are now two points off from the relegation zone.

Aduana Stars completed a double victory over Liberty Professionals.

The pre-game hype centered around Yahaya Mohammed and Latif Blessing, first and 2nd on the League Scorers Chart but it was Bright Adjei who got the only goal of the game.

At the Sogakope Red Bull Arena, WAFA defeated Bechem United by two unanswered goals. Richmond Lamptey was the star of the day, netting both goals for the Soccer Academicians.

Inter Allies troubled season continued at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Takyiman.

The Harbour City club lost to Techiman City by two first half goals from Clement Boahen and Isaac Baah.

New Edubiase United faithfuls got their hearts broken by a late Nana Tei Horsu goal.

Felix Afriye's second half equalizer looked to have fetched the relegation threatened club a vital point after going down to a Stephen Owusu spot kick goal but it wasn't going to be so.

The 'Yenko nkoa' lads couldn't hold on, allowing Tei Horsu to nick a later winner for Berekum Chelsea.
