League Report Interim Kotoko coach Michael Osei hits back at Bechem United trainer over 'inept' claims
JUL 20, 2016 LISTEN

Interim Kotoko coach Michael Osei has hit back at Manuel Zacharias, claiming the Bechem United trainer is not competent enough to handle a 5th division team in his native Portugal.

Osei has been incensed by the attack of the European, who accused him of lacking the technical competence to lead the Porcupine Warriors.

Zacharias jabbed the former Ghana international as inept after his side grinded out a pulsating goalless drawn game at the Baba Yara stadium.

But Osei has hit back, claiming his opposite number is not competent to handle a 5th division team in his native country.

"I know him (Manuel Zacharias) to be a tough-talking coach, but all what he said about me are bogus and they're nothing to me at all," he fumed on Kumasi-based Silver FM

"If he's a good coach, he wouldn't have been in Ghana coaching. If he's to stay in his country, Portugal, he won't even get a fifth division side to coach not to even talk about managing a second-tier club.He has made himself as a controversial person who always tries to provoke his opponents with useless and nasty antics when playing against them.

"He said when Kotoko is given to him, he will take the club to another level and i don't have to waste my time to worry about this useless comment on my coaching job.

"I'm keeping focus and looking forward to bring back success to my club as things are not going on well for us at the moment," the former New Edubiase manager remarked.

Osei Admitted coaching the giants comes with hs expectatiob.

"There is no doubt that; coaching Kotoko involves a lot of tension and pressure.

"But, I'm somebody who is able to withstand such pressure."

Kotoko travel to Cape Coast to face Ebusua Dwarfs on Wednesday.
