Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan says suspended duo of Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng must be forgiven and be recalled into the the Black Stars.

The China-based attacker waded into the controversial issue following the apology offered by Muntari over incidents at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Boateng and Muntari were sacked from the Black Stars during the tournament in Brazil due to various acts of indiscipline.

Muntari slapped a Black Stars management committee member in an unprovoked attack while Boateng was axed for subjecting coach Kwesi Appiah to verbal insults.

'At the end of the day, it is up to the coach to decide whether to call him [Sulley Muntari] or not. We are Ghanaians and I think anytime they are ready to return to the national team, the people of Ghana should forgive them and move on,' Gyan told Happy FM.

Despite his plea for the duo to be recalled Gyan admits that coach Avrma Grant has the final say over the recall of the duo.

The government's commission of enquiry into the Brazil fiasco also ruled that Muntari should not be recalled into the national team even if he apologises.
