Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Vincent Oppong Asamoah has accused the current administration of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) of collapsing grassroots football.

According to Mr. Oppong Asamoah the football governing body under the tutelage of Kwesi Nyantekyi and his team have achieved nothing in terms of youth development.

He believes the over concentration on the Black Stars is the architect of Ghana's woeful youth development and this could destroy the foundation of the country's football.

'Most of the GFA media partners will always jump to their defence with the political clout of we are always guilty and they are always right.

"But to me the bottom-line we have to sit down and ask ourselves whether football is growing or not?" Mr. Oppong quizzed in an interview with Starr FM.

'If you ask me we started very well at the youth level every football nation is measured from youth football.

"As for the Black Stars you can call them from over the world but to me the grassroots is the foundation, it is the basis of football and we are not getting it right," he said.

The Black Starlets have not qualified for the World Youth Championship since 2007.
